Welcome to our Family Blog!
We are excited to have a way to keep in touch with our family and friends. Please stop by from time to time to see what's new with the Volante's!

We were so excited to be able to build our first snowman of the year!
The weather was warm and we were having a blast in the front yard. Mommy rolled the bottom and the belly while Daddy made sure our Frosty was standing upright!
When we finished we dressed Frosty in a warm scarf and hat. We're pretty sure he came to life that day! We think he had a lot of fun, because he is no longer in our front yard!

Saturday, Oct 4th we went to Nelson's Pumpkin Farm.
What a beautiful day! There was so much to see and do but we all agree that our favorite was watching the Pumpkin chucker flinger thinger throw the pumpkin way up in the air!
Both David and Allison found their own pumpkin. Their pumpkins were ginormous! The combined weight of the two pumpkins was 54 pounds!
We hope you are all enjoying the Fall Season!

Tuesday night, 8/26 we left St. Cloud for South Dakota. Both David and Allison were very excited for "Ca-cation"! We packed up the car (renting one first that would give us 35 miles to the gallon) and headed out West. Our first destination was Sioux Falls, which is where we stayed for the night.
That next morning we woke up and started out for our first destination....The Corn Palace! Allison and David were very impressed by the Corn Palace! They were not so impress by the lack of Corn Suckers at the gift shop. Allison decided she didn't want a "Hot Butter" flavored sucker and opted for the Blow Pop instead (very smart choice).
We soon all hopped in the car and were off to Wall Drug!! David was rather excited for his "Free Glass of Ice Water". We stopped at the pizza parlor for a pizzan and enough time to walk through the endless aisles of Wall Drug items that are soon to be found in Garage Sales nationwide. Once we had our fill of Wall Drug we continued on to the next destination.
We were all very excited to get to our Resort (Palmer Gulch) but as soon as we settled in we were off to Mt. Rushmore. We sat and watched Mt. Rushmore as the sun went down. David thought the names of the presidents were very funny....Especially Abe Lincoln! :-)
That evening when we got back we visited the fudge shop at our resort....Oreo Cookie Fudge...very good!
By Thursday morning we were all geared up to visit Bedrock City...Yaba Daba Doo! We loved riding the train around Fred and Wilma's city...it was such a great time! We then decided to go to Bear Country as we drove around the homes of large Grizzly Bears! Several bears got very close to our car...it was pretty cool! We then got out of car so we could see the baby bear cubes. Allison couldn't believe all "cute" they were up close!
You probably think that would be enough for the Volante's but...Oh No! Friday morning we all got up very early....packed up the car and headed off to....Reptile Gardens! Snakes, Lizards and Crocodiles...what else you ask....Allison's favorite the Praire Dogs!
Wow...by the time we all got back in the car we knew there was only one more place to go....HOME! So we all nessled back in our car so we could start the 9 hour trip back to St. Cloud so we could all relax before our next great adventure! But, not before stopping one more time at the 1880 Town for a bit of lunch at the 1950 Diner.

Sunday, August 24th we had a get together with the Krebsbach side. It was great to spend time with everyone as well as watch all of our kids playing together. We all commented on how much the family has grown over the years! Getting all of us together for a picture has become more challenging...as you'll see from the pictures!
